More ho-hum Stravinsky, this time from Jurowski and the LPO

I had high hopes for this recording as I really like Jurowski. But, alas, it's all curiously ho-hum. Freshness, spontaneity and incisive articulation are in very short supply - surprising, given this is a "live" performance. The LPO sounds distinctly uninspired and musters very little energy anywhere. By far the best thing here is the Symphonies of Wind Instruments. Apparently the small group of wind players found some interest in playing this wonderful, less-often played work. It's actually well done, but can't salvage the rest of the program.

The sound is average - fine, but nothing special. It's a little too smooth and a bit thick in the mid-range. I am finding this series of live LPO recordings consistently disappointing.
